CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Driver Adam Merner turned Thursday night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park into a personal highlight reel, sweeping six victories across the harness racing card.

Merner kicked off the roll in the opener with Franzcesca ($2.30) in 1:58.1 for trainer Vaughan Doyle, then doubled right back in race 2 guiding Dusty Lane Kahlua ($6.30) to a tidy 2:02.1 trot score for Lenny Myers. He returned to the winner’s circle in race 4 when Five Star Dragon ($3.70) reached up to double trainer Vaughan Doyle in 1:56.4, and made it four in race 5 weaving late with Woodmere Honeymoon ($10.20) in 1:58.2 from his own barn. The five-pack arrived in race 6 as Real Smokeshow ($12.10) upset from the Ashley Gamester barn in 1:58.4, and Merner completed the six-bagger in race 9, flashing some backclass with former Atlantic Champion Magical Mistress ($6.90) in 1:55.4 for a double from his own Charlottetown stable.

A native of Port Morien, N.S., Merner now sits 10 wins away from the 1,000 win plateau.

The $4,150 filly-and-mare feature in race 10 produced the night’s upset as Shake N Blake ($25.90) and driver Ken Murphy unleashed a grandstand brush to nail Rosetown Mary (Driven by Corey MacPherson) and Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) in 1:54.4 for owner-trainer Jennifer Doyle.

Rocket Blast ($2.20) won the $3,850 trot class for trainer-driver MacPherson in race 3 with a 1:58.4 score for owner Carl Bagnall.

Live racing continues Saturday afternoon at 12:30 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown.
