CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Bee Two Bee (Sunshine Beach) stamped his class in Saturday’s $5,100 Preferred 2 pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park, sweeping past late to capture the race 11 harness racing feature in 1:56.3 over a good track with a three-second variant.

Jason Hughes engineered the winning trip from post 5 as Bee Two Bee ($7.70) sat off the speed, angled through the lane and surged clear by a length over House Edge Hanover (Driven by Ken Murphy) with Twin B Tuffenuff (Gilles Barrieau) third. The Sunshine Beach eight-year-old is trained by Ashley Gamester for co-owners Donald MacRae, Vernon Bridge, and Blair MacLauchlan, Charlottetown.

Earlier, the “In Memory of Jerome Campbell” Pace in race 6 went to Gator Hanover ($7.90) in 1:59 for driver Hughes and trainer Adam Merner’s stable, getting up by half-a-length over stablemate Sports Teller (Merner) with Starship Glyde (Marc Campbell) third.

The Merner stable doubled up as Mr Kelly ($4.90) rallied smartly in race 10 in 1:59.4 for trainer-driver Merner.

Driver Hughes tripled as Katies Bet ($8.80) rallied home in race 4 in 1:59.1 for trainer Kyle Wilkie.

In race 1, Nolans Magic Shui ($2.30) kicked off the day in 1:58.4 for the Paul Langille barn, followed by another win for trainer-driver Langille in race 7 with Im Hungry ($10.50) threading traffic late for a 2:03.3 decision. Langille also catch drove race 5 winner Shadows Terror ($16.10) who upset in 2:00.3 for trainer Lenny Myers on top of a $334.00 exactor ticket.

Raising Sand ($4.20) closed out the card with a crisp off-the-pace tally in the race 12 finale, stopping the clock in 1:58.2 for driver pilot Marc Campbell and trainer Todd Walsh. Rymar Jimbo (Murphy) was a game second with Laughagain Hanover (Hughes) third.
