Kingman’s (Always B Miki) win in the $250,000 Group One Victoria Cup on Saturday night at Melton served to highlight a great breed that’s resurfaced at the highest level.

Kingman was bred in New Zealand by the horse’s owner Australian Mick Harvey and is out of Dali mare Gotta Go Dali Queen, the winner of eight races. She was bred by Sue Martin and is out of the Christian Cullen mare Gotta Go Harmony. Gotta Go Harmony won four races for Martin who only bred two foals from her, one of which is Gotta Go Dali Queen.
Martin also trained Got A Go Harmony’s full brother Got A Go Cullect which won five of his nine starts.
Gotta Go Harmony is now owned by Todd and Fleur Anderson.
The Andersons have bred another five foals out of Gotta Go Harmony including Major Envy (Art Major) who won once for Southland trainer Nathan Williamson before winning a further seven races in Australia for owner Mick Boots.

Since Kingman, Gotta Go Dali Queen has left a filly by Captain Crunch, a full sister to Kingman, a colt by King Of Swing and recently she produced a filly by Captaintreacherous.
Harvey is also breeding from another daughter of Gotta Go Harmony, My Blue Harmony.
Bred by the Andersons, My Blue Harmony was placed in six of her eight starts for Tony Herlihy before being exported to Australia where she won seven races for Harvey before she was sent to stud.
This family has a lot of depth to it.
Got A Go Harmony and Got A Go Cullect are out of brilliant filly Elect To Live which won seven of her ten starts as a two year old and twelve of twenty two starts at three.
Elect To Live’s New Zealand wins included the Caduceus Club Fillies Classic, the New Zealand Sires’ Stakes Two Year Old Fillies Championship, the Great Northern Oaks and the New Zealand Oaks – all Group One features.
She also won five races as a three year old in Australia including the NSW Oaks and Australian Pacing Derby.
Harvey is also breeding from another daughter of Elect To Live, Gotta Go Electowatch (He’s Watching). She’s already left two winners, Refusal and Rewatch. Rewatch ran second in the Group One Gold Crown Final at Bathurst in March.
There’s interest in whether Kingman will return to his roots and race in next month’s IRT New Zealand Cup.
