The star performer in this race for three-year-olds with little money, Macao Mip (Carat Williams) pulled away in the last 500 meters, increasing his lead as he approached the finish line.

With two races and two wins under his belt, Nicolas Ensch’s colt certainly has a lot to gain this winter:
“He’s got what it takes,” commented his driver-trainer, before explaining: “I took my time to get to the front and found him a little more tense today. That said, he powered on to the finish line. He’s better in the afternoon than in the morning. He’s got the engine, that’s for sure, but we had to wait for his feet to improve.”
Macao Mip is the first offspring of his dam Elea Mip (Village Mystic), a good competitor who won 14 races, already wearing the colors of Michel Lourmière’s Ecurie Mip. Elea Mip has since produced a son by Charly du Noyer, named Nirvana Mip.
