Harness racing hits Auckland again today with 8 races on the card. The racing starts at 5:45pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good night of racing.

Best Bet:  R1   Carrera Hombre

Best Value:  R4  Southern Diamond

Race 1

Carrera Hombre (5) Coming in fresh but raced better fields than this last campaign. Top selection
Waltzing With Miki (3) Small field will help and racing without luck. Has popped up before at long odds
Delightful Chic (4) Freshened and stable respect in this. Will be a good chance with the right trip

Race 2

Hillbilly Blues (7) Freshened and stable hard to beat at the home track. Has to be included in this
Crackerjack (8) Has early speed to be one of the leaders and has been freshened. Can run top three
Overwatch (3) Good win last start but up in grade and much tougher here. Top three chance looks best

Race 3

Time For Change (5) Looked like a quick improver from his last start. Good run expected and top selection
Dolly Parton (6) Ok at recent trials and a threat to the favourite with a good run in transit. Include
Lincoln Maree (1) Has a bit of speed and hopefully the manners are better now. Can sneak a top three 

Race 4

Southern Diamond (4) At his best would be hard to beat. A winning chance with manners early. Include
Con Grazia Love (2) Conditions suit for this and will begin quickly. Should give a sight from the draw
Ocean Eyes (1) Out of form but improver with a place chance at longer odds if she steps cleanly in this

Race 5

Mako (11) Ran home well last start in a similar field. Big winning claims if he is put into the race earlier
Im Sandra Dee (1) Drawn ideally and well placed here. Good each way chance from the ace draw
Confederate (6) Will be fitter after last start second. Should get a soft trip from the draw. Needed here

Race 6

Higher Power (8) Going for three in a row and looks a big chance of doing just that. Hard to beat here
Pretty In Pink  (1) Should get a soft run handy. Winning claims from the draw. Include at longer odds
Youneverknow (5) Another speedy trotter going for three in a row. Top three likely and can go close

Race 7

Jolimont (7) Tricky handicap but small field helps. Good enough to make his own luck. Needed here
Twista  (2) Gets a head start on main rivals. Should go close to placing in this from the draw. Include
Captain Sampson (4) In good form and should get a good run near the speed. Top three chance

Race 8

Cyclone Rebel (3) Fastest horse in the field and better suited here. Hard to beat if he gets a soft trip
Franco Salah (5) Decent motor and wide draw the only concern in this. One of the better chances
Bruntwood Brigade (4) Disappointing last start. Will continue to improve and place hope here with luck
