Little change in Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll

Hightstown, NJ – Little changed in the Week 22 edition of the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Wednesday, with the Top 10 remaining unaltered, but that might not be the case next week as 15 of the horses receiving points in the rankings will be in graded-stakes action at Bally’s Dover and The Meadowlands in the coming days.

Five horses in the Top 10 are entered in races this week: No. 4 Miki And Minnie taking on older rivals in the FanDuel Mare Pace Championship (G2), No. 5 Loua Dipa in the Three Diamonds (G1) for 2-year-old female pacers, No. 7 Ervin Hanover in the FanDuel Open Pace Championship (G1), and Lexus Kody in the FanDuel Open Trot Championship (G1) – all Saturday at The Meadowlands – as well as No. 10 Super Chapter in the Matron Stakes (G3) for 3-year-old male trotters on Thursday at Dover.

The remaining 10 horses receiving points that are entered this week are 3-year-old male trotter Meshuggah, 3-year-old female pacer Rodeo Drive Deo, and 3-year-old male pacers Dandy Ideal and Prince Hal Hanover (all in Matrons) and mare pacer Always B Naughty, older male pacer Maximus Miki, older male trotters Periculum and French Wine, and mare trotters Warrawee Michelle and Elista Hanover (all in FanDuels).

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will continue weekly on Wednesdays through the Grand Circuit season, does not determine year-end awards. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year, and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
