Many were not expecting hot favourite Tracy The Jet to be beaten, but the Tom Bagrie trained Dash Dosh (Trixton) accomplished it in the $140,000 Group One Woodlands Stud New Zealand Trotting Oaks.
At the start the two favourites Tracy The Jet and Ya Rite Darl battled for the top. But Ya Rite Darl folded under the early pressure and broke. That allowed Dash Dosh and driver Blair Orange to drop in behind Tracy The Jet.
“Johnny had a good crack at trying to cross the one horse (Tracy The Jet) and we were lucky enough to poke our legs up there and hold the trail. That was the winning of the race,” driver Blair Orange said.
As Tracy The Jet and Dash Dosh straightened for the run home the Bagrie trained three year old showed too much speed and won by a head, with twelve lengths back to Request.
DASH DOSH REPLAY
“She’s very very fast and I didn’t want to go too soon because I know when she hits the front she knocks up a wee bit. I was happy to time it right.”

Owned by Tom Bagrie Limited, Paul Howlett, Scott Bagrie, Keith Woolley and Colin and Sandra McPherson, the win tonight was the filly’s fifth and her fourth this campaign.
