What was expected to be a confidence building run turned into a winning one for nine year old pacer Deny Everything (A Rocknroll Dance) in the Peter Heyrick Memorial Mobile Pace at Ascot Park today.

From the outside of the front line harness racing driver Kirstin Green watched the early action unfold and with Sky Patrol taken to the lead, Deny Everything settled last. As most of the field raced off the inside running line Green was able to save ground, poke up the inside and land up four back on the inside.
“They were running along a bit and Amber (trainer Amber Hoffman) said he needed a confidence run,” Green said.
Blair Orange driving Sky Patrol ensured there were no soft sectionals and with Step It Up A Notch on his wheel, the pace remained hot.
“Having driven him once before, he sprinted up real good that day. I was hoping the gaps would open up and they did.”
When second favourite Munroe’s Mate started to feel the pinch, Green was able to move to the outside. Under a hard drive, Deny Everything got over the top of them and went to the line with his ears pricked, running down a brave Sky Patrol to win by a length, with Herb half a length back in third.
DENY EVERYTHING REPLAY

The winning time was a smart 2-38.0 for the 2200 metre mobile – a mile rate of 1-55.5.

The win was the gelding’s nineth in just forty seven starts. He started his career with Mark Jones who won seven races with him. As a five year old he won four of his six starts and looked destined for top end racing. However because of leg issues and a number of wind operations, he completely missed his six year old season.
After finishing his racing for Jones, Deny Everything was sent south be trained by Graeme Anderson and Mike Love. He won once for them.
He’s been with Hoffman for over a year now and in that time prior to todays win, has had four seconds and a third.
The giant pacer last won on this course in June 2024 when trained by Anderson and Love.
“He’s a lovely big horse to drive. He doesn’t tighten the reins and does what you ask him to do. He only does what he has to – I gave him a bit of a yell and he took off.”
The win today took his stake earnings to over $100,000.
The other highlight of the day was that Winton reinsman Brent Barclay drove four winners – Anita Mary, Bring On The Muscle, Always Be Bootie and Side Hustle.
