Harness racing hits Methven again today with 12 races on the card. The racing starts at 12:03pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Race 1

Do You Wanna Dance (2) Has been unlucky in recent races. Can run top three with luck
Always Bee Gee (1) Might get a soft run on the pegs here. Not the worst at longer odds
Swift Guy (6) Latest run have been ok. Win chance here if he can find the front early

Race 2

Blastfromthepast (3) Has been thereabouts the last couple Has to be included in this
Real Velocity (6) Good run last start from a tricky draw and looks hard to beat in this
Eastwood Admiral (1) Improver from his last start and has the draw Top three chance 

Race 3

Antisocial (11) Hard run last start but stuck on ok. Grass suits and good run expected
Art Jordan (8) Ok last start and a threat to these with a good run in transit. Include
Ultimatum (5) Freshened and has ability. Can sneak into the top three with a soft trip

Race 4

Transtasman Bubble (15) Winning claims if he can get handy early. Can upset with luck
Jasprit Trouble (6) Running on in a similar field last start. Should give a good account
Son E (5) Just missed last start. Similar tactics to last start likely here from the draw

Race 5

Playing With Stars (5) Overdue a win and gets a nice draw. Hard to roll with a soft trip
Franco Humbie (7) Has been disappointing. At his best could run top three in this field
Betterwithbling (1) Always running on in his races and conditions suit here. Top three

Race 6

Courage Reactor (6) Big finish last start and no reason can not keep improving. Include
He’s A Bay (10) At his best would give some cheek here. One for longer odds in this
Anytime At All (3) Conditions suit and  goes ok on grass. Chance of running a place

Race 7

The Coalman (2) Big run on Show Day and drawn well. Capable and should go close
Jose Quivera (3) Decent motor and normally a fast beginner. One for longer odds
Buckskin (4) Has the ability to trouble most of these. Upset claims with manners

Race 8 

Holly Highlander (7) Has been disappointing but good manners and might surprise
Lookslikeatrixter (4) Decent motor and finished well last start. One of the better chances
Brianna  (2) Latest runs not as bad as they look on paper. Place claims at longer odds 

Race 9

Built For Glory  (11) Tricky draw but can do some work mid race. Latest run was ok
The Big Lebowski (6) Decent motor and grass should suit. Upset claims at big odds
Esmeralda (5) Tough run but still won last start in quick time. Will stick on if she leads

Race 10

Festus Haggen (12) Stand start helps his chances and can run a good race at longer odds
Lonnekers (10) Decent motor and only needs manners to be a threat to these. Upset hope
Ultimate Counsel (1) Comes into calculations from the stand and draw. Big odds available

Race 11

Muscle Mountain (9) Has been running good races but tricky draw. Winning claims
Mr Love (12) Decent motor and racing well in similar fields. Draw hurts but needed
Maui (5) Could give a bit of cheek on grass over the sprint trip if he can get a soft run

Race 12

Troubleshooter (12) Has been racing well in better fields. Winning claims here with luck
Samvasa (2) Decent motor and racing well in similar fields. Chance from the draw
Tallandfast (7) Wide draw but could give a bit of cheek if he can get a soft run in transit.
