London, ON – The holiday spirit was alive and well at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday evening as the 6th annual Drivers’ Holiday Challenge delivered thrilling action and generous giving. The harness racing spotlight belonged to Louis-Philippe Roy, who stole the show with an incredible six-win performance in the 11-race competition.

Roy’s victories included a sweep of both the early and late daily doubles, scoring with Larjon Levi and Credit Kawhi to kick off the card, then adding wins with Yes (Race 7), Scratchin An Itch (Race 8), and closing out the night with Silver Beast and Fireinsidemyveins.
Roy also partnered with Samuel Fillion to secure Team Quebec’s triumph in the team portion of the event. They finished ahead of Team West, with Team Maritimes and Team Ontario rounding out the standings. Other participating drivers included:
- Team Ontario: Garrett Rooney, defending champion Lorne House
- Team West: Phil Hudon, Daryl Thiessen
- Team Maritimes: Austin Sorrie, Paul MacKenzie
Beyond the on-track excitement, the event once again showcased the industry’s generosity. This year’s challenge raised $12,000 in cash and toys for the Toys for Tots campaign, continuing a proud tradition of giving back to the community during the holiday season.

“The Drivers’ Holiday Challenge has become a marquee event for us,” said The Raceway’s Manager of Equine Programming Amy O’Toole. “It’s a great way to celebrate the season, showcase top talent, and support a wonderful cause.”
The Raceway’s next live program comes up this Friday night with a first post of 5:50 p.m. For full race results and replays and the complete holiday racing schedule visit www.westernfairdistrict.com.
