Leap To Fame passes the $5 million mark

Australia’s favourite pacer Leap To Fame (Bettors Delight) returned to his winning ways when as expected he scored an easy all the way harness racing win in the 2025 Somerset Farms Christmas Cup at Albion Park on Saturday evening. Only a week ago Leap To Fame recorded one of his greatest performances when he was cut down by Don Hugo in the last stride in the Blacks A Fake after covering a huge amount of extra ground.

On Saturday evening facing only four opponents including two of his stablemates Tims A Trooper and Captain Hammerhead, Leap To Fame strolled to the lead within 300 metres of the start and from then on it was a matter of driver Grant Dixon controlling the pace and giving his horse the easiest possible run.

Speak The Truth wisely took the trail and over the 2680 metre journey Dixon just allowed Leap To Fame to jog along in front. In the third quarter he stepped on the gas with a fast 26.6 seconds and still under a grip from Dixon he did the same time down the home straight.

At the finish he had just under eight metres to spare over Speak The Truth with Tims A Trooper holding on for third placing. He recorded a mile rate of 1.54.1 for the staying trip.

The question will now be what course of action Grant Dixon along with owner Kevin Seymour will decide on for Leap To Fame’s future for the beginning of next season. He would be highly regarded if he returns to Cambridge in New Zealand for the slot race in an effort to repeat his awesome success earlier this year.

Back in Australia Leap To Fame may well travel to Melbourne for another attempt at the AG Hunter Cup as well as the Miracle Mile at Menangle in mid March.

However trainer Grant Dixon is sure to be guided by Leap To Fame as he has a close association with the six year old stallion.

In winning Leap To Fame moved past the $5 million stake earnings posting his 60th win and 15 placings from 77 starts to date.
