L’Ecrin D’Or and Keengame Take Cornulier Qualifiers

What a groupe level harness racing and Christmas festival day this was at Vincennes. Groupe action began with the The Prix Une de Mai (Gr II, purse 120,000€, 2700 meters, 14  two year old fillies) that went to 45/1 odds longshot Nocive de Choquel (2f Face Time Bourbon-Emone Cruz) for driver Francois Lagadeuc, trainer Nicolas Bridault and owner Ecurie Ch.

Bridault timed in 1.14.4kr for her second win in seven starts for 108,020€ in career earnings. She bested 1.7/1 Normandie Niemen (2f Italiano Vero-Best Lady) with David Thomain up for trainer/owner Philippe Allaire. Third was 28/1 Noire Intense (2f Golden Bridge-Teza Josselyn) with trainer William Bigeon up for Joel Seche.

Outsider 29/1 odds Moustik La  Govelle (3m Discours Joyeux-City Girl) with trainer Damien Bonne in the irons for C.G. Labbe took the Prix de Vincennes (Gr I monte, purse 240,000€, 2700 meters, 13 three year old starters) timed in 1.13.1kr.

This was his second career win  and he has earned 158,110€. The  4/10 odds favorite  Meteore de Simm (3m Boccador de Simm-Apres La Pluie) was second with trainer Mathieu Motttier aboard for Jose Davet.

Third was 30/1 Milor de  la Vallee (3m Captain Sparrow) for Eric Raffin and owner/trainer Olivier Touvais.

The Q1 Prix Jag de Bellouet (Cornilier Q1monte, Gr I International, purse 200,000€, 2700 meters, four year olds) went to 6.2/1 odds L’Ecrin d’Or (4m Bird Parker-Quelle Emotion) timed  in  1.11.9kr for trainer/jockey Mathieu Mottier.

Hewon for the sixth time in  a career that has banked 361,685€ for the legendary breeder/owner Richard William Denechere. The 9/10 Lionheart (4mFalcao de Laurma-Decadence) was second for jockey Eric raffin, trainer Nicolas Bazire and Ecurie  de Loradour.   Lemon Fleury (4m Real de Lou) was fourth at 3.5/1 followed by 60/1 odds Lyzia des Agets (4f Canadiend’Am). The top three gain a ticket for the Cornulier and other top monte tests.

The Prix Bilibili (Cornulier Q2, Gr I monte International, purse 200,000€, 12 five year old starters) with the top three earnings Cornulier tickets and  other major monte tests went to 3.5/1 odds Keengame  (5f Express Jet-Red Bell-Jag de Bellouet) timed in 1.12.9kr for jockey Anthony Barrier. J.P. Monclin trains this 11 time career winner of 512,135€ for Ecurie Hunter Valley that has won three straight.

The  91/1 outsider Kiss Me Honey (5g Eye Of The Storm-Nissia de Lou)  was second for jockey Romain Marty, trainer J.M.  Baudouin  and owner Francois Nicolle. Third home was 9/1 odds Kelly de Banville (5f Eridan-Bartavelledu Rib) ridden by  Paul Philippe  Ploquin for conditioner Stephane Bourlier and Yoland Fournier. The next two finishers were 5.2/1 Kazachok (5m Ready Cash) and 99/1 odds Kathcina For Clara.

The Prix Jean Dumouch (Gr III, purse 90,000€, 2850 meters distance handicap, 12 European starters) saw 3/1 Hubble du Vivier (8g Vulcain du Vivier-Minnie du Vivier) score in 1..13.1kr  for Jean Michel Bazire, trainer Nicolas Bazire and owner Mario Xuereb.

Hubble now has 11 career wins for 538,000€.  The 25 meter handicapped 7.5/1 odds Horchestro (8g Sam Bourbon-Alisma du Corta) took second for Eric Raffin, trainer G.R. Huguetand Gerald Dambach the owner of this Jean Pierre Dubois bred trotteur. Jango Vici (6m Dragon des Racques) was third at 17/1 odds for Benjamin Rochard.

The Prix Albert Rayon (Gr III,purse 70,000€, 2100 meters autostart, nine European three year olds) completed today’s groupe action with victory to 2.1/1 Maya du Surf (3f Easy des Racques-Altesse du Surf) that closed late to win in 1.12.4kr for her fourth career victory.

Anthony Barrier teamed the Stephane Prioul trainee for Gilbert Couge that has now earned 140,340€. The 5/1 Missandei (3f Village Mystic-Fun Lady Black) held second for Benjamin Rochard driving for owner/trainer Antonio Ripoll-Rigo. Magic Rose (3f Bilibili-Elegante Rose) rallied to be third at 13/1 odds for Mathieu Mottier.

JMB earlier won the Prix de Briare (59,000€ purse, 2700 meters, 16 European starters ages 6-10) with 1.13.2kr timed and 1.9/1 odds Jobspost (6m Readly Express-Blixtra) for trainer Jorgen Westholm and Stall Courant AB.

This was his first win in France and advanced his career earnings to 219,481€. He won in last to  first fashion for Bazire. Freedom (7g Muscle Hill-Peaceful Way) was second at 12/1 for  Eric Raffin, trainer  Olivier Raffin and Serge Lefort. Jacomo Bello (6g Un Mec d’Heripre-Doriana Bella) was third for driver/trainer/owner Thomas Levesque.
