Speed Away (Father Patrick) wired the field in the Winners Over/ Select conditioned trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night.

Speed Away lived up to his name and provided the early speed of the race. Last Glow also left fast but accepted the pocket trip. The remainder of the harness racing field chose to watch from pylon positioning.
Speed Away, the 6/5 betting favorite, sped past the opening quarter in a rapid 28.1. The field of the best trotters on the grounds remained in single file as Speed Away and driver Corey Callahan were able to back off the half to a moderate 57.3, a 29.2 quarter.
Arrowhead Hanover maneuvered off the pylons and trotted 1st over into the foggy weather conditions midway up the backstretch. Somebody Special countered with a 2nd over trip and in perfect stalking position. Last Glow remained in the pocket.
Speed Away continued on a confident lead reaching the three quarters in 1:26.2, a 28.4 quarter.
At the top of the stretch Speed Away was able to put away the steady challenge by Arrowhead Hanover late and won by a neck in 1:55.1. He paid $4.60 for the victory. Arrowhead Hanover finished 2nd and Last Glow was 3rd.
