PAIR OF GUARANTEED POOLS WEDNESDAY

Hollywood Casino at The Meadows will offer a pair of guaranteed pools this coming Wednesday, January 14.  In addition to the daily $5,000 Guarantee on the Late Pick4 (Races 10-13), a $10,000 minimum pool will be offered on the Race 13 Pentafecta.  The Pentafecta was not hit on Saturday, resulting in a carryover of more than $3,600.

SPRING SERIES COMING UP SOON

The annual Spring Early and Late Closer Series at The Meadows are coming up soon, and we are just over a month away from the deadline for entering the first four events.  February 15 will be the deadline to enter the Wilbur Zendt Memorial Pace, the Boots & Donna Dunn Memorial Pace, the Corwyn Greene Memorial Trot and the Joe & Mary Wohlmuth Memorial Trot.  The events are for 3- and 4-year-old trotters and pacers, Pennsylvania Sired or PA-owned, that are non-winners of 2 Extended PM races or $25,000 lifetime up to and including January 15, 2026.  Winners over $40,000 lifetime are not eligible.   For additional information regarding entries, contact The Meadows’ Race Office at 724-229-6964.

NEW STABLE ARRIVES FROM ILLINOIS    

Kyle and Amy Husted have recently arrived in Southwestern Pennsylvania from the Illinois circuit, and the duo is off to a good start at The Meadows.  They posted two wins last week from just six starts, and have already entered several horses for Wednesday and Thursday’s cards.

JUDGE/HORSEMEN MEETING SCHEDULED

Just a reminder…Presiding Judge Scott Egger has scheduled a meeting with horsemen for Tuesday, January 20 at 2PM Eastern time to go over general commission updates, rules and as a question & answer session.  Those that cannot attend in person will be able to join via phone.  The number for the dial-in meeting is 724-301-4632, with the passcode 590 595 932#.
