Harness Analyst – Ashburton 13th January free tips

Harness racing hits Ashburton again today with 10 races on the card. The racing starts at 1:32pm and we highlight some specials and value runners we think can give you a run for your money on a good day of racing.

Best Bet:  R3   Divine Mercy

Best Value:  R6   Scotlynn Crunch

Race 1 

Nobilo (7) Galloped last start but mobile a big assist here. One of the best chances in this field
Champers Pat (1) Good draw and should begin quickly. Distance suits for this and can go close
He’s My Creation (2) Has looked ok at trials and top driver booked. Has to be included in combos

Race 2 

Emma Swan (9) Racing well and will be running on late in this. Wide draw but has winning claims
Courage Reactor (8) Ok last start is stronger and just needs luck to be a threat. Include here
Heaven (1) Has the best draw over the sprint and might try for an all the way win Hard to beat 

Race 3 

Divine Mercy (5) Looked impressive at trials and top driver takes the reins. Good run expected
Midnight Sophia (4) Has improved form and still on the way up. Will give a good performance
Ombre Shard (1) Has speed but needs manners. Can sneak into the top three with no errors 

Race 4 

Dont Look Kobe (1) Has been racing ok against nice horses and will be fitter after last start 2nd
Kingaroy (6) Not far away lasts start and should give a good account with a similar effort here
Tetrick (10) Still a bit green and manners needed early. Has the speed to be a major factor

Race 5 

Scotlynn Fortress (2) Fought on last start in a stronger field. Looks a solid top three player from the draw
Miss Woodville (4) Disappointing last start but well placed here. Good each way chance with a soft trip
Major Miss (5) Has been trialing ok. Obvious ability and should run a nice mile. Worth including in this

Race 6 

Scotlynn Crunch (6) Fought on last start in a stronger field and back to grit will suit. Top selection
Jazzys Upstart (7) Big finish to run third last start well placed here. Good each way chance again 
Ask Me Lazarus (10) Might get a soft run on the pegs here. Will be running on here with any gaps

Race 7 

Rocky Pacific (8) Running on ok last start. Hard to beat if he gets a good run in transit. EW
Bannockburn (9) Great form and can do some work mid race. One of the better chances in this
Jukebox Gypsy (5) Good finish last start and should race near the front. Has claims with a soft trip

Race 8 

Blackjack (1) Good beginner who can race handy and sneak into the placings if things go his way
Ultimate Counsel (8) Decent beginner and had excuses last start. Can lead early and stick on
Bautista (9) Not far away last start. Will continue to improve here and one for longer odds in this

Race 9 

Holly Highlander (1) Better draw but tougher field. Needs a hot pace to show her best form here. Include
Kracka Looka (6) Decent motor and should get a run through early. Good chance on recent tidy form
Bodacious (10) Running on last start and would be dangerous if he can get handy early. One for odds. 

Race 10 

Captain Commodore (10) Has been freshened and at his best would go close to winning this. Needed
Kotare Kelso (7) Wide draw but better than most in this field. Has to be respected and has gate speed
Dawn To Dark (4) Good finish last start and short distance suits. Has to be included again in this
