Local star Swayzee (Rock N Roll Heaven) is on course for another successful Victorian trip following his effortless harness racing win in the For A Reason Standing at Cobbity Farm Pace at Menangle on Saturday evening.

Fresh from his outstanding win in the Goulburn Cup after he outstayed Don Hugo in an epic battle, Swayzee was expected to be classes above his rivals and from the very start it was obvious he meant business.
Driver Cameron Hart allowed him time to settle down early while Oberon Cup winner Wheres The Gold found the early lead before wisely surrendering to Swayzee at around the 1850 metre mark.
SWAYZEE 17 JAN REPLAY
The inclement conditions didn’t seem to faze Swayzee as he cruised along and he was never out of second gear as he began to apply the pressure in the final lap. Helluva who had three back on the rails tried to rally as did Ubetcha Tigerpie who came from fifth position out wide.
But Swayzee looked totally in control as he was cruising down the home straight and he swept away to win unextended by seven metres from a determined Ubetcha Tigerpie with Helluva a credible third.
Trainer Jason Grimson certainly made the right call in avoiding the Shepparton Cup where he would have clashed with Kingman and Leap To Fame. As it stands he is likely to go to the Ballarat Cup next Saturday night’s Group 2 $100,000 Ballarat Pacing Cup and then he will defend his Hunter Cup title at Melton on 14 February.

No doubt harness racing fans would be pleased that Swayzee is now back in the big time and ready to make his presence felt in the nation’s forthcoming feature races.
