Today’s exceptional classic Prix de Cornulier (Gr I International monte, 700,000€ purse, 2700 meters, 18 starters ages 4-11) saw 5.7/1 odds Iguski Sautonne (8m Village Mystic-Sara Sautonne-Juliano Star) burst through a pack of contenders in late stretch to secure victory with Alexandre Abrivard in the irons.

The Matthieu Abrivard trainee now has 19 career wins in 62 starts for 1,027,980€ earned for Ecurie LD- M Abrivard. He earned 315,000€ today and previously has raced once monte that was a third place finish in the Gr III Prix Auguste Francois on December 10th.

Second a length back was 17/1 Ina du Rib (8g Uhlan du Val-Tina du Rib) with J.L. Cl. Dersoir the jockey for legendary trainer Joel Hallais and Ecurie Rib.

Th 2/1 odds favorite Jeroboam d’Erable (7m Prodigious-Amiraute) was third with Damien Bonne up for trainer Clement Thomain and Ecurie du Haras d’Erable the owner/breeder. Following this group the top seven consisted of 18/1 Jean Balthazar (7m Alto de Viette) with Guillaume Martin; 14/1 Ideale du Chene (8f Bird Parker) with Paul Philippe Ploquin; 123/1 odds Halfa (9f Offshore Dream) for Alan Gendrot; and seventh finishing 11/1 Islamorada (8f Royal Dream) and Camille Levesque that closed from the back.
