The improved gelding Peace of Heaven (Rock N Roll Heaven) won his most important harness racing engagement when he took out the Kevin and Kay Seymour Pot of Gold Final at Globe Derby on Saturday evening.

Driver Danielle Hill certainly made the right choice as she drove both heat winners Peace of Heaven and Sea Salt a week ago and due to the favourable draw she opted to go for Peace of Heaven as Sea Salt was awkwardly drawn on the inside of the second row.
It was an action packed event from the beginning with Clarendon Tribute leading early but then a lightning move from Magic Storm from the rear saw her catch the field napping to draw to a clear lead.
A lap and a half from home Hill made her move and Peace Of Heaven sprinted around the field to sit outside Magic Storm. Meanwhile Sea Storm was locked away in zip fastener four back on the rails.
Peace of Heaven quickly got the better of Magic Storm to race away for a winning lead at the top of the straight. Sea Salt was inconvenienced trying to manoeuvre for a clear run. When she did see daylight she flew home to go down by just over a metre to Peace Of Heaven with Buzz Bomb third. Peace Of Heaven rated 1.58.2 for the 2230 metre journey.
PEACE OF HEAVEN 7 FEB REPLAY
Peace Of Heaven was previously prepared by David Waite in Sydney before transferring to Ryan Hryhorec’s stables in November and he’s now six of his eight last starts at Globe Derby obviously appreciating the weaker company.
He’s raced by prominent owner Mick Boots who also achieved success in the evening over at Menangle with Still Rollin and Hi Manameisjeff.

Peace Of Heaven is out of the Mach Three mare Supreme Belle and she has also left the much travelled but successful Rum Delight (1.54.7 and 35 wins) and Escobar (1.56.2 and 8 wins).
Without taking anything away from the winner the runner up Sea Salt was desperately unlucky and everywhere she went in the run she was denied a clear passage. There’s probably little doubt that with a clear run she would have won the race. Sea Salt is racing in great form for her trainer and part owner Tyson Linke and she is sure to make amends very soon.
