Platinum As (E L Titan) scored a decisive harness racing victory in Tuesday’s Open Trot at Saratoga Casino Hotel. Brett Beckwith pilots the eight year old who enjoyed a monster 2025 campaign and began his ’26 season with a try from post eight last week (Feb 3).

On Tuesday, Platinum As got away in mid-pack in the $16,500 feature but in the second lap began to steadily gain on leader Up Helly Aa (Chris Long), last week’s Open winner. Up Helly Aa carved out first-half fractions of 28 and 57.2 before opening up a three-length lead at the three-quarter pole. Platinum As, the race’s 1-2 betting favorite, picked off horses one by one before confronting the upset-minded Up Helly Aa at the top of the stretch and surging by in the lane.
PLATINUM AS REPLAY
The Melissa Beckwith trainee, who was a ten-time winner last season, stopped the timer in 1:56.2 to record his first score of the year on Tuesday. Up Helly Aa was a strong second at odds of 16-1 while Memorynimagination (Matt Athearn) finished third for the third consecutive start and fifth time in his last six races dating back to last year.
Platinum As gave Brett Beckwith one of his three winners on the Tuesday card.
Live racing resumes on Saturday with a matinee that begins at 12pm.
