Benjamin Hanover made amends after making a break in his previous harness racing start with a dominant victory in the Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night.

Four horses battled for early race positioning trotting into the first turn.  Every Day Dan protected the pylon position by parking out Speed Away, Benjamin Hanover and A Blue Million. Speed Away eventually retreated to the pylons in fourth.

Benjamin Hanover, the 1/5 betting favorite, showed little respect towards A Blue Million, who won four consecutive races.  Both trotters were parked wide through an opening quarter in 27.2.  Benjamin Hanover remained the aggressor after finally allowing a relentless A Blue Million to clear the lead.  The half was reached in 57. (29.3)

Midway up the backstretch, Benjamin Hanover and driver Tim Tetrick continued to intimidate A Blue Million.  They pulled the pocket and accelerated grabbing the lead at three quarters in 1:26.1(29.1)

Speed Away braved a coverless 1st over bid and Last Glow followed 2nd over on the rim.  Every Day Dan remained in the pocket.

Benjamin Hanover drew off in the lane and won by three lengths under wraps. He trotted the mile in 1:54.2
