United Kingdom – Two weeks ago members of TROTBritain from the UK visited France and selected 13 French horses, six geldings and seven mares to race back in the UK for the forthcoming 2016 season.
This is part of the ongoing partnership of TROTBritain and LeTrot that is dedicated to the development of trotting in the UK.
Since the start of the partnership with the first Sales Series in 2014, a total of 65 horses have been purchased. The development of Trotter Francais in the UK is to be further advanced with the shipping of three French broodmares purchased in the first series of 2014.
The three French mares are now back in France and will be going to the stallion, Reach de Vandel, to be covered.
Through this arrangement, TROTBritain hopes to start developing young horses that can race both in France and the UK. They would be eligible for the Prakas Stake for British bred trotters with races at age 2, 3 and 4.
This year TROTBritain has an unprecedented estimated 75 races scheduled at 47 meetings at 16 different tracks across England, Scotland and Wales in 2016. In September at Mussleburgh Racecourse in Scotland, a LeTrot is scheduled to be run before THE QUEEN! Trotting in the UK is certainly going in the right direction due to TROTBritain.
