Port Perry, ON — Tara Hills Stud is very pleased to announce that O’Brien Award winner Control The Moment p,2, 1:49.4s; 3,1:48.2 ($1,085,220) will begin his stud career at our facility beginning with the 2017 harness racing breeding season.
Trained throughout his career by Brad Maxwell, Control The Moment enjoyed a nearly flawless rookie season, winning eight of nine starts which included the Metro elimination and final, Breeders Crown elimination, the Nassagaweya and a sweep of the Dream Maker series at Mohawk. He concluded his freshman campaign with $347,757 earned along with the title of Canada’s 2-year-old pacing colt of 2015.
His accomplishments this year at three included victories in the Meadowlands Pace elimination and final, where he earned his life record of 1:48.2, the Cane Pace, as well as the Hempt Memorial elimination. Control The Moment’s racing career was curtailed by a career ending injury early in September.
A son of Well Said, Control The Moment’s dam is the Life Sign mare Life'sliltreasure, a winner of $308,277 during her career which included numerous stakes wins in Western Canada before relocating to Ontario.
The introductory stud fee for Control The Moment will be announced soon. His foals will be eligible to the lucrative Ontario Sires Stakes program.
