Macca Lodge trained South of The Waitaki winter series 2017

It is proposed that this series will be run over the four NZ Metropolitan Trotting Club meetings in July. The series will consist of three heats to be held on 7th, 14th, 21st and final on the 28th July, for total stake money of $36,000.   

To be eligible for this series, horses had to be registered with HRNZ in the name of a Trainer(s) based South of the Waitaki River or not registered under any Trainer(s) name as at 1st May 2017 and onwards before being registered in the name of a Trainer(s) based South of the Waitaki River.   

The series will be for three-year-old and older pacers assessed up to Rating 60 as at the closing of nominations for heat one. A horse must compete or have been eliminated in at least two heats to be eligible for the final.   

The first three place getters in each heat will have automatic entry into the final. The balance of the field will be selected by the NZMTC from those horses that competed or were eliminated in at least two heats. A horse that wins two heats will be ineligible for any remaining heats of this series. Any horse that competed or was eliminated in at least two heats will be deemed nominated for the final unless specifically withdrawn from the series final.   

The Club reserves the right to cancel any heat or final of this series if there are less than 10 acceptors. At least two heats of this series must be run for the final to be held.

7th July – Heat One:  – Stake $8,000 – Mobile Start – Distance 1950 metres – For Pacers assessed up to Rating 60 as at closing of Nominations for this Race – Preferential Barrier Draw based on: Winning Stakes  

14th July – Heat Two: – Stake $8,000 – Mobile Start – Distance 2600 metres – For Pacers assessed up to Rating 60 as at closing of Nominations for Heat One of this series – Preferential Barrier Draw based on: Rating then Earnings  

21st July – Heat Three: – Stake $8,000 – Mobile Start – Distance 1950 metres – For Pacers assessed up to Rating 60 as at closing of Nominations for Heat One of this series – Preferential Barrier Draw based on: Rating  

28th July – Final:  – Stake $12,000 – Mobile Start – Distance 2600 metres – For Pacers who have competed in or been eliminated from at least two heats of this series – Preferential Barrier Draw based on: Rating then Earnings
