Harness Racing New South Wales has announced a $16.1million prizemoney increase over the next three years.
As part of the Strategic Plan, the HRNSW Board has brought forward the boost in funding by 12 months, with base prizemoney to increase from January 1, 2022.
This will see both āAā and āBā Category meetings increased to $8,976 and $6,800 respectively.
āWhilst NSW conducts the only $1million harness race in Australasia, the Garrardās Miracle Mile, HRNSW has a continued focus on prizemoney at the grass-roots level so as to provide a vital platform for industry sustainability,ā said HRNSW Chairman Ken Brown.
āIncreasing base prizemoney permits a broader spread of returns to all participants including owners, trainers and drivers alike.ā
In a period of 12 months, āAā and āBā Category meetings have increased from $6,500 and $6,000 respectively.
