A Somebeachsomewhere filly topped harness racing’s Nutrien Equine Standardbred Sale in Melbourne today.
The daughter of Art Major mare Caitlyn Clarke was hammered down to owner Danny Zavitsanos for $160,000.
The only other filly in the sale to reach a six-figure price tag was the trotting-bred daughter of Volstead out of French mare Island Dream.
With strong European bloodlines, the filly consigned by Yabby Dam Farms was sold for $120,000 to J C International.
Meanwhile, the Art Major bloodline proved popular amongst the pacers at the sale.
The top-priced colt was by Art Major out of the mare My Mackenzie that was purchased for $150,000 by Rob Davis of RED Harness Racing.
Another Art Major colt, out of Perfect Life, also fetched a six-figure sum, being sold to Edward and Michelle Caruana for $141,000.
West Australian operation Swandoo Harness Racing purchased two lots for $100,000 each.
They were a Bettors Delight colt out of Art Start and a Always B Miki colt out of Red Hot Roxy.
The top trotting colt at the sale was the son of Father Patrick and Shes An Image that was purchased by Alabar Farms for $100,000.
Alabar Farms consigned both of the top pacing lots.
The sale had a clearance rate of more than 80 per cent with 107 of the 133 lots sold.
With an average sale price of $36,967, the gross total of the sale was $3,955,500.
