Success in the Golden Nursery Final at Globe Derby last Saturday will see Jawsoflincoln aim for the Southern Cross at the end of November.
Jawsoflincoln won the two-year-old feature, completing a hat-trick of wins.
The colt found the lead just past the 200 metre mark and then held off a late challenge from the Dani Hill-trained Im Princes Bella with Art Jester coming from last to finish in third spot.
Sponsor Alabar Farms would no doubt be thrilled with the result given that their stallions sired the trifecta.
Champion stallion Art Major sired the winner Jawsoflincoln and third placegetter Art Jester while emerging sire A Rocknroll Dance is the sire of Im Princess Bella.
Jawsoflincoln recorded a mile rate of 1:57.4 running his last quarter in 28.6 seconds.
Purchased at the 2020 APG Sydney Sale for just $14,000, he is unbeaten in South Australia since being transferred to Naracoorte trainer Greg Scholefieldās yard from Victorian trainer Courtney Slater.
Owned by a group managed by former Mount Gambier President Michael Lamond, who had previously raced Limestone Bay with Scholefield. Limestone Bay won 19 races for Scholefield and ironically ran second in the 2013 Golden Nursery behind Major Cruiser.
