2020 Yearling Sale – Live blog Day 2

The second day of the NZB Standardbred’s 2020 National Standardbred Yearling Sale is about to get underway at Canterbury Agricultural Park

The Trotters Sale on Tuesday 18 February and Pacers Sale on Wednesday 19 February will be broadcast live on Freeview Channel 200 and www.nzbstandardbred.co.nz from 3.45pm and 10.45am respectively with a Preview Show hosted by Greg O'Connor.

High interest in a variety of sires and well performed bloodlines today. Father Patrick, Love You and Peak all bringing a truly international sire line-up to proceedings along with the sort after Muscle Hill. Creatine, Sebastian K and Kadabra also present within the sale today too.

An exicting day in Chirstchurch with the biggest ever bid registered for a trotter through the sale. Day 3 of the sale sees pacing lots go arounnd with plenty of action to get through. 

Lot 179 Franco Hippie (Father Patrick – Hot Pants) concludes the action for today and goes for $65'000 

Lot 177 Highgrove (Love You – Focus On Me) Goes for $34'000. The colt is closely related to Australian racetrack performers Running Fire and Well Defined 

Lot 173 Loving Chevron (Love You – Chevron Express) goes for a strong $80'000. The page looked good and obviously the type was up to expectations too. The pedigree can be seen here.  

Lot 171 Love Potion (Love You -Bree) continues the Love You dominance of the sales ring and goes for $65'000

Lot 169 Son Of A Sun (Majestic Son – A Touch Of Sun) is a full brother to the high achiever in King Denny (out of a mare who has seldom missed)  and brings $14'000 

Lot 162 Bowl'M Out (Love You – Superbowlcheerleader) is passed in for $65'000

Lot 160 Aldebaran Alpha (Muscle Hill – U Dream) continues the strong support of the sire going for $75'000 

Lot 154. Shooosh (Majestic Sun – Shutterup) is the first Majestic Son to be offered today and goes for $10'000 that's good buying for what the page looks like. The pedigree available here 

Lot 152 Walk It Talk It (Kadabra – Successor)  attracts good interest and goes for $33'000 to Southern connections. He's closely related to Heavyweight Hero who has been impressive recently. 

Other lots by Love You have been popular too and include Lot 145 and Lot 150 which sold for 45'000 and 20'000 respectively. 

Love You just arrived! A bid of $280'000 is lodged for Lot 146 King Cabbl (Love You – Queen Kenny) His pedigree is available here 

Father Patrick is away in Christchurch with Lot 134 Cameron Mor (Father Patrick- Kiwi Girl) being sold to Robbie Holmes for 30'000 while Lot 138 Helloveamoment (Father Patrick- Moment Of Beauty) is sold for 20'000 

Lot 132 (first lot of the day) B D Castleton (Love You-Juneamy Castleton) goes for $40'000 He's a 1/2 brother to Jewels winner Cracker Hill.
