The Lost Storm (Captaintreacherous) tonight (Sep. 28) added fuel to the huge hype that’s flowing from Emma Stewart’s harness racing camp, which has compared the two-year-old to brilliant mare Ladies In Red.
Emma Stewart and Clayton Tonkin talked to TrotsVision’s Ryan Phelan ahead of tonight’s heat win at Bendigo, detailing the big opportunities coming up for their stable stars including Ladies In Red, Honolua Bay, Like A Wildfire and Captain Ravishing.
But it’s The Lost Storm who perhaps garnered most praise, which he then reinforced tonight with a win in his Alabar Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic heat at Bendigo via a blazing 26.3-second last quarter.
“I think he’s probably our best one,” Stewart said of The Lost Storm, who is part-owned by his breeder Justin Baker and Stewart’s training partner Clayton Tonkin.
“I just think he’s got all the attributes to be a real, real good horse,” Tonkin said. “He gives you the same feel as what Ladies In Red gave you when we were going through it last year.
“He’s got that natural high speed, but can over a long period of time. He’s got all the attributes to be a great horse.”
