The American import A Rocknroll Dance, who is now standing at the Somerset Farms stud, of Pete and Chantal McMullen in Queensland, continues to churn out harness racing winners . . . in both hemispheres.
The three-year-olds Pas De Cheval and Cobber carried the flag for their sire in Australia last week. Pas De Cheval took out a NSW Breeders Challenge heat in a career-best 1:55.1 at Bathurst, while Cobber led throughout in 1:56.1 at Melton and has now won nine races.
Other local A Rocknroll Dance winners have been the three-year-olds Bettyās Gold Class (Redcliffe), Rosberg NZ (1:58.9), who made it three wins from five starts at Newcastle, and The Dark Night (Pinjarra), Onehandonebounce (1:56.8, Warragul), Rocknroll Me (Pinjarra) and Star Rocker (Launceston).
In New Zealand, A Rocknroll Dance was represented by the Wyndham winner De La Renta (1:59), while in America, he sired Racey Rach, a former En Zedder who posted her ninth consecutive win at Saratoga Raceway, New York, and a winning double at Pocono Downs with Calypso Rock NZ (1:53) and Rocknroll Nella (1:53).
As at October 17, A Rocknroll Dance has sired 156 individual winners and progeny earnings of $3.2 million and is in eighth position on the Australian all aged siresā list. He is second on the three-year-old premiership with 50 winners.
