The progeny of the Rocknroll Hanover horse A Rocknroll Dance, who is standing at the new Somerset Farms stud, of Pete and Chantal McMullen in Queensland, have earned a hefty $3 million to the end of the third quarter of the current season.

He is now in eighth position on the national All Aged sires’ list and seventh on the three-year-old table for stakemoney and second – behind only Bettor’s Delight – in respect of three-year-old winners.

A Rocknroll Dance was represented by a pair of winners at Albion Park this week in Rocknroll Classic (1:54.4) and the three-year-old The Harris Hawk (1:57.3).

Rosberg NZ, a three-year-old gelding by A Rocknroll Dance, notched his second win from three starts on Australian soil with a career-best 1:54.9 effort at Newcastle, the same track as another ‘Rocknroll’ three-year-old in Rocknpenny scored for the sixth time.

Other recent Australian winners sired by him included Rocknroll Elliot, who took out the Alcoa Cup at Pinjarra in a sharp 1:56 and Rollonx (Redcliffe).

A Rocknroll Dance took the siring honours at Gore, New Zealand with a winning treble – Rockin Va Va (1:59.6), Bobbie’s Rock and Carrera Dance, while Maximillian emerged successful in 1:58.4 at the Timaru feature meeting.

A Rocknroll Dance has sired the winners of $8.9 million from five racing crops in Australia to date. He has left 207 individual winners from 268 starters at an average of $33,125 per starter.
