Star Victorian trotting filly Rockinwithattitude (Aldebaran Eagle) appreciated the return to harness racing against her own sex outclassing her rivals in the Queensland Trotters Oaks at Albion Park on Saturday night (Jul. 16).Ā
ROCKINWITHATTITUDE REPLAY
Sent out a prohibitive $1.04 favorite, Rockinwithattitude was forced to do little more than track work leading all the way in a mile rate of 2:02 with plenty in reserve.Ā
Trainer David Miles welcomed the reprieve for the daughter of Aldebaran Eagle after being beaten into fourth place behind older male trotters in last weekās Haras Des Trotteurs Great Square won by London To A Brick.Ā
āShe had a gut buster last week in The Great Square so it was nice to poke around and get the job done in the Oaks without too much effort,ā Miles said.Ā
Miles conceded Rockinwithattitude was underdone the previous week.Ā
āI may have been a bit easy on her taking in the fact she had two 10 hour days on the road travelling as she blew for an hour after the race,ā he said.Ā
With a doubt over whether Great Square winner London To A Brick will stay in Brisbane next week, Miles is looking ahead to again taking on the boys in the Queensland Trotters Derby.Ā
āIf London To A Brick doesnāt stay for the Derby it depends on what other horses come up from Sydney for it but my filly will be nearĀ peak fitness for it,ā he said.Ā
Miles is mindful of Rockinwithattitudeās hectic schedule against her own sex for the remainder of 2023.Ā
āShe has a big rest of year ahead with races such as the Victoria Oaks, Vicbred Super Series and Breeders Crown, so she is not fully wound up yet,ā he said.Ā
