Emerging juvenile Sweet On Lexy (Sweet Lou) served notice he will be one of the major players in next weeks $500,000 Ladbrokes Protostar when he accounted for his harness racing rivals in the Group 2 Wayne Wilson Paleface Adios Classic at Albion Park.

Despite sitting parked outside Fate Awaits, Sweet On Lexy forged to the lead on straightening and managed to hold off the challengers to score by a head from the fast finishing Hesitate in a mile rate of 1:53.2.
Trainer driver Bernie Hewitt said Sweet On Lexy has always shown promise.
“He’s always shown plenty of ability and I’ve always loved him although he’s had a few issues along the way,” Hewitt said.
“He’s probably not the most tractable horse but he’s got a big motor.
We’ve addressed the issues that were worrying him and he’s learning every time he goes around, he had a nice educational run last week and hit the line nicely,” he said.
Hewitt believes the winner has untapped potential.
“He tends to be able to run nice strong quarters and he can put them together which is the sign of a nice horse,” he said.
“He’s one of those horses that we don’t know how far he’s going to go but at the moment he’s doing everything we’ve asked of him.”
