The progeny of Alabar stallions were very much in demand at the APG Gold Coast harness racing sale yesterday.

First season sire Captain Crunch led the way with one of his sons topping the sale at $100,000 (pictured below)

Captain Crunch – Soul Sister

Bred and offered by Goldenview, the colt out of Soul Sister was purchased by Gold Coast owner Norm Jenkin.

He will now join the stable of leading trainer Andy Gath.

The Storm Inside – Laugh Out Loud

In all Captain Crunch had three yearlings go through the ring and all sold for a sale leading average of $59,000 (3+ lots).

Fellow first season sire The Storm Inside had one lot go through which made an impressive $40,000 – 16 times his service fee.

Offered by Traxion Management, the colt was out of the Grinfromeartoear mare Laugh Out Loud.

Always B Miki – Bootleggin Beverly

While the progeny of Always B Miki continue to sell well with his sole entry, a colt, selling for $62,000.

Offered by Trevor and Louise O’Reilly, the colt is out of the Big Jim mare Bootleggin Beverly.

The next Southern Hemisphere sale on the calendar is the NZB Standardbred National Yearling Sale which will take place at Karaka and Christchurch in February.
