Classy three year old filly Arrive (Captaintreacherous) made easy work of her harness racing rivals when she led all the way to take out the $50,000 Group 3 QBred Classic three year old fillies final at Albion Park on Saturday night.

Arrive was most impressive winning her heat and as a result of her pole draw she started favourite just ahead of Cool And Classy.

The two fillies could not have had more contrasting runs. Arrive had little trouble holding the lead while from barrier five Cool And Classy was out three wide early before her driver Grant Dixon settled her outside the leader.

Meanwhile Pete McMullen on Arrive allowed the filly to stride along with London Baby right behind the leader.

Cool And Classy refused to give in but Arrive running her third quarter in 27.2 seconds and final quarter in 29 seconds and an overall mile rate of 1.53.8 had enough in hand to win by just under four metres from a dogged Cool And Classy and London Baby.

The eye catching run was that of smart filly Ruby Rules who came from near last to rattle home for fourth placing.

Arrive is trained by Chantal Turpin and has now won her last three races in succession. The win gave Pete McMullen his 100th win for the season maintaining his great strike record.

She is owned by  John Polson who could not be at the track as he continues the cleanup on his dairy farm in Taree. However his nephew was on course to collect the trophy

It was a memorable night for John as his star colt Barsby finished third in the two year old colts and geldings final. And his grand pacer Blacksadance was second up in the standing start race. But the best was yet to come for John as his colt Udderly Sweet (Sweet Lou) whom he part owns caused a boilover in the Three year old colts and geldings final when he finished over the top over odds on favourite French Fries.

French Fries was taken to the lead by driver Trent Dawson and he appeared most of his rivals off the bit. Tom Callaghan on Udderly Sweet just tracked French Fries for the entire trip and they cleared away from the rest of the field on the final bend.

French Fries drifted off the track and to the surprise of many Udderly Sweet getting up along the inside prevailed to score a historic win. It was Tom Callaghan’s biggest success as a driver and made amends for his narrow loss on Stripes in the two year old fillies final earlier in the night. Callaghan works for Chantal Turpin and his success was richly deserved.
