A $38,000 purchase from the 2021 APG Perth Sale and offered by Harry Capararoās Adda Equine Stud based at Albany in far South of Western Australia, August Moon added the Oaks to her previous Group success in the Westbred Classic in September this year.Ā
Her Dam My Samantha Jane (by Extreme Three) won 15 races and was Group placed before retiring to the breeding barn.Ā
Her third dam Homin The Shade, a Holmes Hanover mare, was a Group 1 winner of the four-year-old New Zealand Sires Stakes Final and is the dam of Shady Falcon a 25 time winner who took the Redcliffe Derby as a three-year-old.Ā
August Moon hails from the A1 Verity family which includes recent winners Major Grace winner of the George Johnson in Tasmania and Treacherous Love who won the NZ Delightful Lady Classic this year.Ā
This family traces back to Australian Derby winner Halyer and Sapling a former New Zealand horse of the year.Ā
August Moon had a half brother sell at this years APG Sale by Ultimate Machete for $30,000.Ā
