Aldebaran Park resident stallion Skyvalley NZ and Rockinwithattitude Tr 1:57.9 ($338,940), the leading harness racing daughter of the late Aldebaran Eagle USA, both were acknowledged for their outstanding feats at the 2023 Victorian Awards nights held recently.
Skyvalley NZĀ was named the Trotting Sire of the Year by the Victorian Square Trotters Association and Rockinwithattitude the Victorian 3YO Trotting Filly of the Year by Harness Racing Victoria ā a great result for two of our resident stallions.
The Aldebaran Park bred and raised four-year-old mare Aldebaran Vera $118,525 (Trixton USA – Kyvalley Aldebaran NZ) was the standout performer in June winning the Carlottaās Pride Free-for-all at Melton in a new lifetime mark of 1:54.5 defeating Rockinwithattitude, and she also ran a close third in the Wagon Apollo Free-for-all.
She was one of 12 individual winners bred or owned by Aldebaran Park for the month.
Other stud-bred or owned winners were the Melton victors Aldebaran Miley Tr 1:58.9 (Father Patrick USA – Mason Magic), Daley Waters (Sebastian K Swe – Hush Your Majesty) and Sunsup Tr 1:59.5 (Muscle Mass USA – Aldebaran Sunset NZ), Aldebaran Gwen (Skyvalley NZ -Aspenglow USA), Aldebaran Brooke Tr 2:00 (Southwind Frank USA – Excellent Boko Swe), Aldebaran Marcus (Southwind Frank USA – Naked Majesty), Savvy Kyvalley (Andover Hall USA – Aldebaran Dream NZ), That Other Thing (Aldebaran Eagle USA – Aldebaran Deegan NZ), Robert John (Aldebaran Eagle USA – Aldebaran Honey), the Menangle winner Aldebaran Belle NZ Tr 1:58.8 and Aldebaran Crystal NZ, who notched her maiden success at Cambridge, New Zealand.
Skyvalley NZĀ was represented by six winners in June including the three-year-olds Kyvalley Misty (Melton) and Link In Bio (Shepparton), the two-year-old Majic Valley (Shepparton), Aldebaran Gwen and Skybreeze (both Globe Derby Park) and En Seventeen (Swan Hill).
He also figured as the damsire of the Mooroopna Trotters Cup winner Super Service, the Melton victor Majestic Mover and Sabihalil (Yarra Valley).
Aldebaran Eagle USAĀ led in a quartet of winners in the two-year-old Mystery Fred (Bendigo), Dichotomy (Geelong), Robert John (Stawell) and That Other Thing (Swan Hill).
The frozen semen for Aldebaran Eagle USA will be available only in NZ in the coming season.
