Promising Love You three-year-old gelding Van Doren posted back-to-back successes at harness racing’s Bathurst and Menangle tracks in the space of eight days.

Firstly, the chestnut took out the $15,000 Bathurst Gold Coronet and then outsprinted his rivals in a NSW Foundation Trot heat at Menangle in a career-best 1:58.4.

On the same day Tough Love won the second Foundation Trot heat by 17.9 metres in a new lifetime mark of 1:57.3. She has now won six of her 12 starts.

Another of the Love You progeny, Affaire De Cover, notched his fifth success when he came from midfield to beat a handy field in the Bathurst Trotters Cup.

Love You was also represented by the talented four-year-old Love Gun, who completed a winning hat trick at Bendigo, and the ‘new’ three-year-old winners Weststar Milly (Addington, NZ) and Our Deneuve NZ (Charlton).

Im Ready Jet, a daughter of Love You’s leading son Quaker Jet, posted her fifth Group 1 success and claimed the Triple Crown when she annexed the $50,000 Sumthingaboutmaori Free-for-all.

Despite sitting parked for the last lap, Im Ready Jet proved a class above her rivals winning by five metres in a 1:59.1 rate for 2760 metres. The win lifted her stake earnings above the $400,000 mark.

Megeve, a daughter of the Coktail Jet horse The Best Madrik, made it three wins in five starts this season when she won in a slick 1:57.6 at Ballarat. The Best Madrik has sired four winners from four starters from only five foals of racing age.

Meanwhile, Dont Care, a Group 1 winning son of Used To Me, continued his march through the grades at Shepparton recently.

Love You, Quaker Jet, The Best Madrik and Used To Me are members of the Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster at Ballarat.
