Barrier one is the prized draw in Saturday night’s Breeders Challenge semi finals at Menangle.
Leading the charge is unbeaten two-year-old My Ultimate Byron who has the pole position in race seven.
The Jarrod Alchin-trained gelding is looking to make it seven wins in-a-row.
In the other colts and geldings semi final, Smaltese has drawn gate one also which has caught the eye of punters with the colt opening at $1.90 and firming into $1.45 at one stage.
The Brian Portelli-trained pacer ran faster than the Australasian two-year-old record in a trial at Menangle recently and won his heat comfortably on October 5, just three days after his trial where he clocked 1:50.2.
Promising filly Miss Ex has drawn barrier one in her Breeders Challenge semi final.
She won her heat at Menangle last week rating a personal best 1:53.8 and will face Madrid who has drawn barrier eight.
