Bendigo double for Quaker Jet

The lightly raced but highly promising four-year-old Hillside became the latest harness racing winner for the French stallion Quaker Jet in Australia when he led throughout at Bendigo on Friday night (Apr 14).

The gelding provided the first leg of a double for his sire as Quake Proof notched his seventh success on the same card.

Quaker Jet, who has sired 22 individual winners from only 29 Australian starters, also left the 1:59.8 Menangle victor Gunner, who posted his third win from five starts this season.

Quaker Jet’s champion sire Love You enjoyed another successful week on both sides of the Tasman.

Undoubtedly, the highlight was Queen Elida’s last-to-first success in the Free-for-all at Melton on Saturday night (April 15). It was her third win on end and her 21^st from just 38 starts which have netted over $420,000.

Other recent Love You winners have been Lavradore NZ (Pinjarra), Love Ya Brother (Mount Gambier) and Simone Lindenny, who overcame a 10 metre handicap to record her sixth win at Winton, NZ.

Adelle NZ, a mare by Orlando Vici and one of his first crop, outfinished at smart field at Albion Park on Friday night, rating 1:58 for 2138 metres with the last half in a sizzling 55.9 seconds.

Quaker Jet, Love You and Orlando Vici are members of the starstudded Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster at Ballarat (Vic.).
