Bernadette Page hoping for some lady luck

Although she has some solid drives at Globe Derby tomorrow night (Aug. 19), Bernadette Page declared she will be relying on luck.

If Lady Luck shines upon her Page believes she can snag a win or two, without it though, the concession harness racing reinswoman will have a tough night.

“I’ve got some handy drives, but they will need luck,” Page said. “My Bad Habits for example has developed a habit of having no luck, so hopefully that’s due to change.

“He has been in the placings in four of his last five starts, but just can’t get that win.

“He’ll begin from three on the front row, which should give him his chance to break through.

“Then there is Tell A Tall Story, which is in a similar position of being close. but unable. to win, at the moment.”

Runner-up in a heat, Tell A Tall Story will begin from the outside of the front row in the Ryan Racing Final for trainer Errol Johnson.

“It’s not a great barrier,” Page said. “I think we will have to go back and hope for that luck.

“If he’s not too far away he will run on and go close.”

Page’s best chance of glory appears to be with Bullion Girl in the Trotters Of The Future.

Winner of her last two outings – her last in Victoria and first in South Australia – Bullion Girl has drawn to settle prominently from barrier two.

“I’m hoping she can show a bit of gate speed and settle up front, which will make her very hard to catch,” Page said.
