SA BOTRA president and Bolnora Breeding and Racing owner-manager Lee-Ann Pangrazio is adamant that Lot 525, a Soho Tribeca filly in the Australian Pacing Gold SA Yearling Sale at Magic Millions next Sunday, is “probably the nicest filly we’ve ever bred” in 30 years in the sport.
“She’s very strong, well tempered with a lovely work ethic. She’s got a bit of bling about her but she’s got a bit of size too. She’s a real standout,” Lee-Ann, who is offering the filly with her daughter Katie Wilson and partner Naomi Wilson, stated.
She’s a daughter of the Grand Circuit winner and millionaire pacer Soho Tribeca, the second leading colonial bred first crop sire last year with 17 individual winners.
The filly ranks as a half-sister to last season’s star two-year-old Splash Of Paynt, who won a heat of the SA Southern Cross in 1:56.2 and finished a close second in the $35,000 Final, took out a heat of the Southern Stars Series and ran third in the $25,000 Golden Nursery.
Their dam, Writteninpaynt, a Sportswriter mare from the family of Chandon, Salinger and Our Waikiki Beach, injured a leg as a two-year-old and didn’t start racing until she was six.
“She should have really been a cup horse,” Lee-Ann said.
Bolnora is also offering a filly by Poster Boy from the grand producer Jamaka Run (Lot 509) and a colt by the Australian 2YO of the Year The Storm Inside from the Somebeachsomewhere mare Pebblesonthebeach (Lot 516).
The filly is a half-sister to two high class pacers in Jumping Jolt (1:53.1), a winner of 28 races and $205,175 in stakes including the Gawler Derby and SA Sires Produce, and Jamaican Rock (1:52.2), a winner of 13 races to date and $90,286 including the $50,000 SA Silver Salver and the Lordship Stakes.
She’s bred on the same cross as the WA Pacing Cup and Fremantle Cup winner Minstrel.
“She’s a typical Poster Boy type. She’s got a nice work ethic and comes from a lovely family,” Lee-Ann said.
Rounding out the Bolnora entry is a very athletic The Storm Inside colt out of the Mermaid Stakes placegetter Pebblesonthebeach (1:58.4) and her first foal.
Boasting a 3×4 cross to the great Artsplace, the colt carries the blood of Rocknroll Hanover, Somebeachsomewhere, Grinfromeartoear and Safely Kept, all leading sires and broodmare sires.
The trip are all eligible for the SA Southern Cross, Vicbred and the SA Gold Bullion Series.
