Star New Zealand trotter Bet N Win (What The Hill) gave yet another sparkling harness racing performance with a dazzling all the way win in the Second Heat of the Ladbrokes Inter Dominion Trotting championship at Albion Park on Saturday evening.

Confidently backed into a very warm favourite, Bet N Win had no trouble holding the early lead from the pole position. In contrast his main danger Arcee Phoenix was eased back by Chris Svanosio towards the rear of the field.
Not As Promised went up to race outside the leader with Harry Stamper taking a one out and one back trail.
Bet N Win had a leisurely run in the lead but Not As Promised despite his hard run continued to hammer away and Arcee Phoenix was gradually getting home out wide. However Bet N Win was able to win by just under three metres from Not As Promised with Arcee Phoenix a close third. Constantinople finished a credible fourth.
BET N WIN JULY 5 REPLAY
It was a most encouraging effort by Not As Promised who has a youngster won the Victoria Trotters Derby and along the way he’s not been on his best behaviour but last night he was in top form. As for Arcee Phoenix he was doing his best work at the finish and will continue to improve throughout the series.

Driver Bob Butt was pleased the way the race turned out.
“He dropped off enormous from the gate. So it’s another feather in the cap if we need to use it later on.”
“He’s a real laid back horse so I wasn’t too worried about him it was just holding up.”
“He felt super and trotting good and he’s getting the all round game now, he can sprint and stay. Fingers crossed he keeps improving with each run.”
“He seems to thrive on the extra distance so we’re looking forward to it.”
At the same time Arcee Phoenix will also appreciate the longer distance and the next meeting with Bet N Win will be a keen contest.
