On January 19, the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame’s Living Horse Hall of Fame nominating committee announced the results of the 2026 elections.

Bettor’s Wish

Museum members voted for four horses they believed exemplified greatness in the sport: Bettor’s Wish, Buck I St Pat, Manhego, and Nuncio—all celebrated for their outstanding racing achievements. These exceptional horses will be formally inducted on Hall of Fame Day, Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Museum’s annual dinner.

A two-time Dan Patch Award winner, Bettor’s Wish is a son of Hall of Famer Bettor’s Delight and one of the most accomplished Standardbreds of his generation. Racing from 2018 through 2020, Bettor’s Wish compiled an outstanding career record of 44 starts for 24 wins, 13 seconds, and four thirds, amassing career earnings of $2,601,233.

He topped all Standardbreds in earnings in 2019, banking $1,643,745 for the season and cementing his place among the elite performers in harness racing history.

That announcement represents one piece of good news for Bettor’s Wish supporters. The second is the strong presence of his progeny at the 2026 Nutrien Yearling Sales, where a combined total of ten yearlings by Bettor’s Wish will be offered across Australia.

The first of those yearlings will go under the hammer on Valentine’s Day in Tasmania, where Lot 13, from the Group Three–placed mare Huiffer, will be offered. Huiffer’s first three foals are all winners, with Lot 13 being her fourth foal.

The following weekend, the Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale will be conducted at Albion Park, featuring two Bettor’s Wish yearlings in Lot 45 and Lot 54.
Lot 45 is out of nine-time winner and Bathurst Gold Tiara placegetter Vista Bella, who has already produced seven winners, including 2025 two-year-old winner Crunch It p,2,1:56.6.
Lot 54 is the third foal from the two-year-old winner Capitana, whose first two foals are both winners—Namaka (seven wins, $126,001) and Forgive And Forget p,2,1:54.6, a 2025 two-year-old winner.

The Nutrien Sydney Sale on March 8 will feature four yearlings by Bettor’s Wish.
• Lot 10 is a half-sister to three winners, headed by Jilliby Jacksparrow ($131,510), Joonior Brown ($71,881), and Bettor’s Delight two-year-old winner Miss Lemon ($54,024).
• Lot 32 is the first foal from winning Art Major mare Chicago Nights, a daughter of Group One Australasian Breeders Crown two-year-old winner Led Suitcase (11 wins, $261,395).
• Lot 57 is the first foal from the Somebeachsomewhere mare Eyewitness, bred on the same cross as classy Western Australian two-year-old filly Me Petite Dame, who earned approximately $82,000 in 2025 but was unfortunate to come up against another Bettor’s Wish filly in Wishing Belle.
• Lot 125 is out of the winning Christian Cullen mare Our Lilly Malone and is bred on the same cross as Wishing Belle, the top earner among the 20 winners in the first Australasian crop of Bettor’s Wish.

Wishing Belle was the standout two-year-old in Western Australia in 2025, recording eight wins, including victory in the Group One Westbred Classic, on her way to seasonal stakes of $257,511.

The final stop of the 2026 Nutrien Yearling Sales will be Melbourne on April 12, where three yearlings by Bettor’s Wish will be offered.
• Lot 221 is the first foal from nine-time winner Soundsofcash, winner of the Waikato Summer Cup and earner of $123,230.
• Lot 274 is out of the unraced Somebeachsomewhere mare Capoeira, the same cross as Lot 57 in Sydney. Capoeira is already the dam of Listed NSW Norms Daughter Stakes winner Bella Danza ($120,422), by Bettor’s Delight.
• Lot 300 is out of the unraced Real Desire mare Genuine Passion, already the dam of two winners and a half-sister to Group One Bathurst Gold Crown winner Beetson (45 wins, $451,535).

With Hall of Fame recognition secured and a strong crop of yearlings heading to the sales, Bettor’s Wish continues to make his mark—both on the track and in the breeding barn.
