Harness Racing New South Wales’ lucrative Breeders Challenge series has received another boost and this year will feature finals for four-year-old pacers.
As part of the Breed NSW initiative, there will be $50,000 finals for both sexes to be run at Menangle on October 29 in conjunction with the juvenile finals for two and three-year-olds.
Qualifying heats for four-year-old mares, worth $25,000, will be held at Menangle on October 15 while $25,000 heats for entires and geldings that age will be held at the same venue on October 22.
āWe are delighted to be bringing the four-year-old division back into what is one of the great Seriesā on the Australian harness racing calendar,ā Harness Racing New South Wales Chief Executive John Dumesny said.
āWhat we have been able to do in the meantime though is take on board feedback from our members and people right across the industry and implement some new innovations that we are confident will produce some high-quality, exciting and extremely fast racing by some of the best Standardbreds in the country.ā
Breeders Challenge sustained horses are still eligible for the $100,000 Riverina Four and Five-Year-Old Championships held at Riverina Paceway too.
