Harness racing’s Group 2 $30,000 Breeders Crown Championship for four-year-old trotting mares, run at Melton, was a triumph for leading Victorian trotting stud Haras Des Trotteurs as their sires Love You and Orlando Vici provided the quinella pair, Queen Elida NZ and Visionary, respectively.
Queen Elida, who led throughout at a 1:57.4 rate for 2240 metres, spiked her stake earnings to $277,045 to become Love You’s second richest money-winning female in the southern hemisphere.

She has won 17 of her 28 lifetime starts including six out of eight this season – four at Group level.
Her win put an exclamation mark on a very successful Breeders Crown carnival for horses on the Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster.
The three-year-olds Cravache Dor (by Orlando Vici) and Courmayeur (by Village Mystic) both won heats, while the three-year-olds Lindy’s Love (Love You) and Cravache Dor and four-year-old Locksley Lover (Love You) and Just Believe (Orlando Vici) were placed in Group finals.
Love You, who is second on the Australian all aged sires’ list and third in New Zealand, was also represented by the Australian winners Ultimate Stride NZ (1:57.5), Illawong Moonbeam, Central Otago and the three-year-old Pesco Pollo and the NZ winners Westar Milly, Jasinova, Master Class and Excuse My French.
Love You’s richest son, Quaker Jet, produced three ‘new’ winners recently in the two-year-old Castana (Auckland) and the three-year-olds Jet Legs (Albion Park) and Quik Sharnie (Cambridge Raceway).
Other stud-sired winners recently were Luna (by Used To Me) and Orlando Storm (by Orlando Vici).
