The Goulburn Valley trotting stud Aldebaran Park was firmly in the spotlight at last month’s Inter Dominion carnival at Albion Park.

Golden Sunset, a daughter of resident sire Skyvalley NZ, provided the first highlight winning the opening heat of the Inter Dominion Trotting series from the front end. It was her 18th lifetime success and lifted her stake tally to just shy of $200,000.
A fortnight later the Aldebaran Park owned American import Aldebaran Acrux USA Chapter Seven USA-Model Behavior USA) came from worse than midfield to score a crushing win in the Group 3 $30,000 Trotters Inter Dominion Consolation – Free-For-All at a 1:58.8 rating for 2680 metres. This was 0.4 inside the time put up by Just Believe in last year’s Inter Dominion Final.
It was Aldebaran Acrux’s seventh win on Australian soil and tenth lifetime win and boosted her stake earnings to almost $170,000.
The exciting Aldebaran Park bred two-year-old filly Harperseven (Helpisontheway USA -Aldebaran Turnpike USA) added her name to the farm’s honour roll when she scored a thrilling win at only her third start in the $50,000 Listed classic the Australian Pacing Gold Melbourne Sales Graduate race at Melton.
Skyvalley NZ, who is currently second on this season’s winners’ list and fourth on the stakemoney table, produced seven individual winners in July.
Besides Golden Sunset, he was also the sire of the Melton three-year-old winner Alrighty Tr 1:57, the VSTA Cup winner and new ‘$100,000 Club Member Watch And Act, Aldebaran Anton (ex Backina Lifetime), a winner at Hamilton and Stawell, Rarity Rock, Link In Bio and My Bad Habits.
Skyvalley NZ also ranked as the damsire of the Menangle and Melton winner Im Bobby Tr 1:53.9),the Melton three-year-old winner Sky Flair Tr 1:58.9, Bumper Service, Keayang Gypsy and Super Service.
Aldebaran Eagle USA was represented by winners in the homebred Keayang Brandy (ex Im Princess Sophie), who won at Kilmore and Shepparton, the three-year-old Night Flight and the pacer Huxham Chubb.
Aldebaran Park bred six individual winners for the month highlighted by Generally Speaking Swe (Readly Express Swe – Maori Time), who posted consecutive wins in 1:54 and 1:55 at Hoosier Park, Indiana and the $50,000 APG Melbourne Sales Graduate victor Harperseven.
Other homebred winners were the two-year-old filly Aldebaran Jazmine (Muscle Hill USA -Endsino), who scored on debut at Bendigo and finished third in the $50,000 Listed Australian Pacing Gold Melbourne Sales Graduate, Aldebaran Brooke Tr 1:58.5 (Southwind Frank USA – Excellent Boko Swe), Aldebaran Anton and Keayang Brandy.
