BREEDING powerhouse Brooklyn Lodge has claimed New South Wales Broodmare of the Year with multiple-producing mare Shoutaloud.
Now retired from the breeding barn after 12 foals, Shoutaloud’s progeny last season collectively earned more than $187,000 in prizemoney.
Those foals included Atomic Red, Smooth Baht, Smooth Cash and Power Of Red.
It was a welcome surprise for Brooklyn Lodge owner Janet Moore.
“She’s a great old mare,” Moore said.
“She was just a lovely horse to do everything with, with the perfect temperament.
“We have retired her from breeding but still have some of the bloodline with a foal of hers that we named One Last Shout which we thought was appropriate.
“She is of the same vain as her mum and hopefully can be just like her in the breeding barn.”
