Butler’s move from Tasmania to Victoria

A change in lifestyle is set to see husband and wife team Marc and Kirsty Butler make the move from Tasmania to call Victoria home.

The pair will relocate to Kyabram located in Victoria’s Goulburn Valley to continue their harness racing pursuit.

“It is just a bit more of a lifestyle change and more opportunity to race during the week,” Marc Butler said.

“It was just a spur of the moment thing, we saw the property pop up and we had a look and kind of made our minds up there and then on the spot.”

“Our house and everything is set to get packed up on Friday (Sep 27) and we make the move Sunday (Sep 29).”

Kirsty is set to continue and develop her equine sports therapy business in Victoria.

“We are moving over for Kristy’s business, I think she could make a really good go of it over there,” Marc said.

“She does red light, laser and all that kind of stuff for the horses.”

The move to Victoria is set to continue fostering a strong balance raising a young family.

“Our son starts full-time school next year, here (Tasmania) we race Friday trial Saturday and race Sunday, so the two days he would have off we would have drag him to the trials or to the races,” Marc Butler said.

“Last night we didn’t get back till 1.30am and he has to try and get up and get ready for school.”

The Butlers are set to bring a team of horses down that could really excite fans.

“There is a three-year-old called Cuzzy Bro that goes really good,” he said. “We have another filly called Lunchtime Lass and she goes pretty well.

“We have a four-year-old called Herakles that is also pretty good.

“We would like to come down to Melton if we can get the right kind of horses, at the moment we just have country horses to plug around with and a few to bring back for the Tasmanian Sires Series.

The Butler stable has trained 58-winners with 10 coming this season.
