Emerging megastar Captain Ravishing (Captaintreacherous) is set to make his first public harness racing appearance following a breathtaking track record performance at Melton during November.

Captain Ravishing

The Emma Stewart-trained four-year-old is listed to trial at his home track of Ballarat on Tuesday (Jan 24), with regular driver Mark Pitt down to join him.

Captain Ravishing will take on Joe Pace’s Supreme Dominator and Forty Thieves, Jason Grimson’s Abouttime and Craig Hoban’s Tangoingwithsierra at Bray Raceway.

The Group 2 4YO Bonanza on February 4 is the expected kick-off point for the son of Captaintreacherous, with the Group 1 Chariots of Fire and Miracle Mile other likely major targets in coming weeks.

Captain Ravishing’s seven starts for Stewart have included outstanding wins in the Colin and Heather Holloway 3YO Classic, Reg Withers 3YO Classic, a Victoria Derby heat and Breeders Crown heat, semi-final and final. In that Breeders Crown final on November 19, he sat parked on a wet night at Tabcorp Park and smashed the 2240m track record while winning by nearly 30m.

His career record now stands at eight victories from 12 career runs for $178,140 in prizemoney.
