NSW harness racing filly Lux Aeterna (Captaintreacherous) maintained her unbeaten career record when she made a one act affair of tonight’s (Aug. 10) $175,000 Nutrien Equine Classic (2YO Fillies) Final at Bendigo.
Sent out a prohibitive $1.04 favorite, Lux Aeterna had little trouble securing the lead from her favorable front row draw and trainer driver Ricky Alchin enjoyed an armchair ride as the daughter of Captaintreacherous reeled off a 55.6 last 800 metres.

On the line Lux Aeterna held a 26 metre margin over Ignite The Fire and Thesunandthemoon.
“I was relieved just to get her down here first up and get her over the line,” Alchin said.
“It’s a great thrill for all the connections and we’re just lucky to have a filly of her calibre in the stable.
Alchin believes Lux Aeterna will be a key player in the upcoming juvenile classics.
“I’ve just got to keep her sound and healthy and we’re going to have a lot of fun,” he said.
“She’ll go back home for the NSW Breeders Challenge and then come back down here to Victoria for the Breeders Crown.”
Lux Aeterna is now unbeaten in five lifetime starts and has already amassed more than $280,000 in prize money.
